How Long To Cook Chicken In The Oven ?













350 degrees for 30-40 minutes per pound.The slower you cook it, the more tender, moist and succulent it will be

It is recommended that you use a meat thermometer stuck in the breast meat or thigh. Chicken needs to be 165 degrees internally to be safe from food poisoning. What's important is that the juices run clear, or not at all, when you prick them to be sure the chicken is fully cooked.

Here's a recipe for cooking chicken in the oven but part cooking first in a skillet pan (frying pan)

Ingredients

1 chicken cut up into 8 pieces
1 small onion sliced
2 cloves of garlic minced
1 bottle Bar B Q sauce
2 tbsp butter
Salt & Pepper to taste
1/2 cup water


Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a large hot skillet (frying pan) heat butter till melted and add in onions and garlic.
Lay chicken pieces in skin side down
Salt & Pepper.
After about 4 minutes, flip chicken to other side to brown.
Remove chicken and onions from skillet to a large roasting pan that has been treated with non stick cooking spray.
Pour bottle of sauce over chicken and onions.
Add in 1/2 cup water.
Cover the pan with tin foil and bake for 1 hour.
The meat will be fall off the bone.
